Ripe Digital’s Bespoke Labels for Sipsmith Gin using Fedrigoni Self-Adhesive Sheets

Ripe Digital, a long-term print partner of London-based gin distillery Sipsmith, was tasked with producing 24 personalised labels for a limited edition of their Dry Strawberry Smash gin. Personalisation extends beyond mere branding; it resonates with customers on an emotional level. In this case, the bottle was customised with the recipient’s name, serving as an invitation to an exclusive event. Going digital was the natural choice for such a short run.

Printed with an HP Indigo 7800, the paper selected for the labels was Fedrigoni Tintoretto H+O Gesso, certified for HP Indigo®. This felt-marked uncoated paper belongs to the revamped Fedrigoni Sheets Exclusive Collection, a range of high-tack, permanent, and removable self-adhesives in sheet format, drawing from Fedrigoni’s signature specialty papers as facestocks. With its off-white tone, textured feel, and high opacity, Tintoretto H+O Gesso provided the ideal canvas for the design created by Sipsmith’s in-house team. The unmistakable white swan dominates the composition, set atop a rose gold digital foil, adding a warm, sparkling element to the final aesthetic of the label.

“Having been a print partner of Sipsmith since its early stages, we’ve witnessed their evolution into a global brand,” says George Penny, Production Manager at Ripe Digital. “We’ve built mutual trust over time, and we’re pleased to collaborate on high-value digital printing projects like this one. Traditionally challenging for small quantities, our in-house digital foiling/sleeking and cutting capabilities, combined with top-tier materials, ensure that we continue to meet Sipsmith’s premium standards while staying competitive.”

Labels

Labels are used to ensure recognisability of containers and to identify the brand and the product inside. However simple they may seem to be from a structural point of view, labels often have to respond to precise standards, especially in the field of food products and cosmetics. Their dimension must not only be proportional to the size of the container, but must also allow clear and legible presentation of the product information required by current legislation. In order to create a label with the best possible visual impact, secondary information can be included in a label applied to the rear of the product.
